Introducing our new strategic plan, a five-year roadmap that will advance the excellence and impact of our gynaecological cancer research.
In May 2023, a group of 24 ANZGOG members gathered to discuss the organisation’s values, purpose, and direction, resulting in a new vision, a new mission, and a new five-year strategic plan.
Our vision is: ‘Advancing research, saving lives’.
ANZGOG’s shared values are: Excellence, Impact, Equity, Collaboration, and Openness.
Together with representatives of our committees and working groups, we updated our mission:
To improve outcomes and quality of life for everyone with a lived experience of gynaecological cancer by conducting and promoting clinical trials and
multidisciplinary research.
Setting the stage for progress
The ANZGOG 2023-2028 strategic plan, articulates four distinctive goals, each poised to contribute to the advancement of research and the betterment of lives affected by gynaecological cancers.
Goal 1: Catalyse innovative, practice-changing cooperative gynaecological cancer research
- Deliver diverse, high-quality research fueled by evidence, community insights, and impact.
- Seamlessly integrate clinical and translational research to broaden research horizons.
- Embrace innovative trial designs and technologies to push boundaries.
- Proactively engage in international research collaborations to amplify global impact.
Goal 2: Expand the reach, relevance and impact of our research
- Amplify real-world impact through results-focused gynaecological cancer research.
- Expand research reach in regional, rural, and international contexts.
- Cultivate robust engagement, participation, and influence in New Zealand.
- Embrace diverse recruitment to enrich ANZGOG’s research diversity.
Goal 3: Engage, collaborate and share expertise and insights
- Cultivate purposeful engagement, nurturing mutually beneficial connections.
- Actively share research insights to foster a culture of collaboration.

Goal 4: Sustain a vibrant and efficient research organisation
- Maintain transparent, efficient operational and financial functions.
- Cultivate a diverse funding base for research sustainability.
- Streamline membership and leadership renewal processes for agility.
- Advocate strategically to reinforce ANZGOG’s lasting influence.
