Team Teal is an annual fundraising campaign led by ANZGOG’s fundraising arm – WomenCan – in partnership with the Harness Racing industry in Australia and New Zealand.

The annual Team Teal campaign, a partnership between WomenCan and the Harness Racing Industry in Australia and New Zealand, has wrapped up for another year. Funds raised will support ANZGOG’s Survivors Teaching Students and Research Nurse Grant programs in Australia and research projects in New Zealand.

Fundraising was done through wins, sponsorships and community involvement in the form of bake sales, sausage sizzles, ladies nights and race meet dinners. We are excited to announce that the 2021 campaign raised $157,500 from wins alone across Australia and New Zealand, which is an outstanding result! A further $97,320 was raised from the Night at the Trots event at Tabcorp Park Melton, where we were lucky enough to be joined by two tables of ANZGOG members, including ANZGOG Co-Founder Professor Michael Quinn and Associate Professor Orla McNally.

WomenCan would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the 2021 Team Teal campaign. We are grateful for the continued support and generous donations, so women with ovarian cancer live better and live longer. “Awareness ripples like a stone in a pond and, when you pair our colour Teal with the excitement of thundering hooves and racing horses, this will leave a strong impression in people’s minds.” – Kristin Young, ovarian cancer survivor and Survivors Teaching Students volunteer
