Team Teal is an annual fundraising campaign led by ANZGOG’s fundraising arm – WomenCan – in partnership with the Harness Racing industry in Australia and New Zealand.

For 6 weeks over February and March, WomenCan partners with the Harness Racing industry across Australia and New Zealand to participate in Team Teal.

During this time, all reinswomen race in teal pants to raise awareness and vital funds for ANZGOG’s Survivors Teaching Students® and Research Nurse Grant programs by securing first place across the finish line.

ANZGOG members Dr Allison Black and Adele Hudson recently attended the Tasmania Cup in Hobart, flying the ANZGOG flag and sharing the importance of supporting Team Teal with over 120 guests at the cup day function, hosted by TasRacing.

“The support shown from TasRacing to Team Teal was fantastic. The opportunity for Duncan McPherson OAM and I to talk about the symptoms of ovarian cancer, Team Teal, the Survivors Teaching Students program and the benefit of clinical trials was invaluable.  We are finally starting to make people aware of ovarian cancer in Tasmania and are looking forward to spreading the word further“ said Dr Allison Black.

In addition to this event, TasRacing further supported Team Teal with a charity golf day, fundraising activities at the Devonport Cup Day and also the Australian Female Drivers Championship in Launceston where we saw all our female drivers in action, including the amazing Kerryn Manning – the current most successful female reinswomen or jockey in the world!

Congratulations to the team at TasRacing for a successful Team Teal campaign.
