ANZGOG’s Research Unit supports its members in the development, conduct and oversight of their research projects. The Unit also assists members with translational research considerations for their trials to ensure ANZGOG’s research outputs are the best in class.
Supported by a team of experienced project managers, across a range of specialties, ANZGOG’s Research Unit is driving the organisation’s vision of advancing research, saving lives.

Project Manager – TR-ANZGOG (Translational ANZGOG)
I’m responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of mechanisms that facilitate translational research. Translational research refers to the process of translating questions raised in the clinic, to questions that can be addressed in the laboratory, with subsequent results translated back to the clinic to improve patient care. My role supports the collection, and custodianship, of biospecimens and data associated with ANZGOG trials and translational projects.

Kate Weatherall

Clinical Trials Operations Lead
My role within the Research department at ANZGOG involves leading operational activities across ANZGOG’s clinical trial portfolio. I have people management responsibilities for trial operations staff as well as collaborate with our members, trial sponsors and other stakeholders to ensure our trials continue to run smoothly. I also work closely with QA in my role to implement and maintain our quality systems and processes.

Lisa Bailey
Clinical Trials Project Manager
As a Project Manager I provide overall management, coordination, and administration for the EN.10/TAPER and DOMENICA trials.
My focus is to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including international sponsors, investigators, site staff, vendors and the ANZGOG research team to successfully manage start-up activities, clinical trial operations and trial deliverables.

Christine Saleib
Clinical Trials Assistant
As a CTA, I provide administrative support to the Research Unit at ANZGOG. I assist the project managers with various tasks during the startup, execution and close out of the clinical trials including, but not limited to, trials documents collection and upload to the Trial Master File, finance, and invoicing, update Clinical Trials Management System, and tracking Serious Adverse Events and funds for new research.

Janet Russell
Quality Manager
As Quality Manager, I implement and manage the clinical quality management system (QMS) for ANZGOG clinical trials and foster a quality culture. I oversee research procedures, training, issue, vendor and risk management, records management, and regulatory inspections.
I work closely with the research team and other internal stakeholders to continuously improve the clinical QMS and share important information (e.g., changes to regulatory requirements, quality issues and risks).

Kathryn Alsop
Project Manager – OASIS & EDEN Research Initiatives
As Project Manager for the OASIS (Ovarian cancer Alliance for Signal Seeking Clinical Trials) and EDEN (Endometrial Cancer Research Initiative), I’m responsible for working with the ANZGOG members involved in the respective initiatives to facilitate the development of new research projects (both clinical and pre-clinical) and collaborations that contribute to the objectives of each Initiative, and ANZGOG.
