NOOSA 2010 - New Trials Concept Session
The ANZGOG Scientific Conference will be held in Noosa from February 24 – 27, 2010. There will be a New Trial Concept forum on February 26th for the presentation of new research proposals. These sessions have been very successful at the past two annual ANZGOG ASMs. During this session investigators will have the opportunity to present concepts that could be developed into future ANZGOG studies.
New proposals to ANZGOG are submitted to the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) for review of scientific merit and feasibility, prior to full protocol development. However, the New Trial Concept session at the ASM in Noosa is designed to encourage open discussion of concepts that have the potential for further development, and to provide investigators with relevant feedback. The discussion will take place in an informal and unthreatening environment.
The deadline for new investigators to submit their concepts for consideration by the RAC – The ANZGOG 2010 New Concept Selection Panel is Friday, January 8th 2010. The panel will contact successful investigators by the week of January 25th 2010 to present their concepts at the ANZGOG Annual Scientific Meeting - NOOSA 2010 on Friday, February 26th.
Proposals may be for any type of clinical research in gynaecological cancer e.g., clinical trials, epidemiological studies, psycho-social research, retrospective reviews of uncommon cancers etc. Where possible submitted concepts should address the following headings: (i) aims; (ii) background and significance; (iii) study summary including hypothesis, objectives, endpoints; (iv) key eligibility criteria and (v) statistical considerations.
