Why does ANZGOG need donations?

Progress in research is directly related to funding resources; our research activities are limited by the amount of funding we have to carry out this work. Increased funding for gynaecological cancer clinical trials research means that studies can be run and the results obtained more quickly for the benefit of all women.

Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG) receives some support for its clinical trials research program from the Cancer Institute NSW and from the Federal Government Strengthening Cancer Care Initiative.

This funding provides short term support of our group's research infrastructure needs, and we have several ongoing studies that are unfunded. Substantial ongoing infrastructure funding is required to support our national clinical trials program, particularly to allow important new research to commence without delays.

We must rely on the generosity of the community and industry to meet the costs of maintaining our existing trials, and the infrastructure and commencement costs for new trials.

Directing donations to ANZGOG after the death of a family member

A significant proportion of our resources come from bequests after a family member has suffered and passed away from a gynaecological malignancy. These families often request donations are made towards the organisation’s research programme rather than the purchase of flowers at funerals. If your family would like to make such a bequest the appropriate donation forms can be obtained through either your treating oncologist or downloaded from this website.
