Research Advisory Committee

Composition and terms of reference

The Chair of the Research Advisory Committee is to be appointed by the Executive committee.

The members of the Research Advisory Committee shall be nominated by the Chair of the Research Advisory Committee with the approval of the Executive Committee.

The RAC shall review and approve all ANZGOG trials and shall also be responsible for reviewing the progress of these trials

The functions of the Research Advisory Committee shall be to furnish to the Chair of the Executive Committee information and advice with respect to:

• the conduct of all matters relevant to the research and scientific objectives of ANZGOG;
• who shall be suitably qualified and capable of conducting clinical trials relating to gynaecological cancer; and
• matters pertaining to general scientific research and the standards relevant to the objectives of ANZGOG.

The Research Advisory Committee shall be kept inclusive; Members of the Research Advisory Committee shall be representatives of the subspecialty in gynaecological cancer and the States and Territories of Australia and New Zealand where clinical trials are conducted, with an acceptable level of experience in clinical trials and general scientific research. As a minimum the Research Advisory Committee should include:

• Chair of RAC
• Chair of the Executive Committee
• Secretary/treasurer
• Statistician
• Program Manager representing the Trial Coordinating Centre
• Representative of study coordinators committee
• Consumer representative

The Research Advisory Committee shall have those powers conferred upon it by the Executive Committee.

The Research Advisory Committee shall meet as often as it thinks necessary to perform its functions, but at least twice in each calendar year.
